Whether you’re a regular on your morning commute or a weekend wanderer seeking a delightful spot to unwind, The Galley promises a memorable experience grounded in quality and genuine hospitality.
The menu represents a delightful celebration of traditional British flavors with a contemporary twist. For breakfast enthusiasts, the Traditional English Breakfast stands out as a hearty, satisfying choice—each element cooked to perfection, from the crisp bacon to the fluffy eggs. If you’re in the mood for something elegantly refined, the Eggs Benedict offers a luxurious blend of silky hollandaise atop perfectly poached eggs, evoking a creamy richness that lingers pleasantly with every bite.
The Galley’s selection of cold sandwiches is a revelation, catering to a variety of tastes with fresh, thoughtfully paired ingredients. From the savory comfort of Roasted Ham and Cheddar Cheese to the delicate indulgence of Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese, each sandwich bursts with vibrant, well-balanced flavors. The Cream Cheese, Crispy Bacon, and Avocado combo is particularly noteworthy, combining creamy textures and smoky accents for a truly crave-worthy highlight. Light bites like jacket potatoes provide a satisfying midday pick-me-up, simple yet expertly executed.
Of course, no visit to The Galley is complete without sampling their expertly brewed hot drinks. Whether you prefer the smooth, bittersweet notes of an Americano or the velvety texture of a Flat White, their coffee menu delivers consistently excellent cups that pair beautifully with any food choice. The Deluxe Hot Chocolate, rich and indulgent, is a treat that invites you to linger a little longer, savoring both the drink and the atmosphere.
Beyond the food and beverages, customers often praise the welcoming vibe and heartfelt service at The Galley. Linda Colin shares how the “toasted bagel with scrambled egg and smoked salmon” was “perfect,” capturing the essence of a spot where attention to detail truly matters. Another visitor, Claire Breslin, recounts an experience where the owner went “above and beyond” even at closing time—it’s these moments of genuine care that make The Galley more than just a coffee shop; it becomes a community cornerstone.
Whether you’re drawn by the promise of expertly crafted food and coffee or the genuine warmth of local hospitality, The Galley offers a refuge where quality and kindness coexist effortlessly. It’s a rare find where every visit feels personalized and every bite tells a story—highly recommended for those seeking a richly satisfying cafe experience in London.

Lovely cafe with some outside seating. My first visit and was very happy with the experience. Had toasted bagel with scrambled egg and smoked salmon which was perfect and there were many other choices l would like to try.
Lovely and lively cafe well worth the short walk from wood st high street where other places tend to rely on location for business as opposed to quality of service or food, this place ticks all the boxes, give it a try!
Such a great cafe! Really lovely owner with such lovely food. Went above and beyond to help me even though he was closing! Great menu too, definitely worth a visit!
Great little find with lovely food and coffee at a reasonable price
Great food and a lovely service every time! Highly recommend!!
Just moved here and love this place! High quality food and great community cafe, very friendly
Come here a lot and the food is always great and the people who run it are lovely. A local favourite!
*Edit* This little cafe just gets better and better. The staff who work there are just incredibly nice people who go above and beyond. Is my Saturday treat every week Fabulous little family run cafe, the food is lovely and very reasonably priced. There can sometimes be a little bit of a wait due to its size and popularity, but it never bothers me.
